Privacy Policy

How Adaptive Content Filter handles your data.

Developer: ZAIXOS. Product: Adaptive Content Filter (Chrome extension). Last updated: 3 August 2026. This page is the privacy policy linked from our Chrome Web Store listing.

In short

Private by default. Clear when anything is optional.

Filtering and preferences stay on your device. Optional features that leave your device require your choice first.

1

On your device

Rules, modes, and local models live in Chrome storage on this computer.

2

No browsing log

We do not build or sell a history of the sites you visit.

3

Opt-in extras

Analytics and optional cloud help stay off until you turn them on.

4

You approve

Describe and apply flows wait for your review before changes run.

Single purpose

What this extension is for.

Adaptive Content Filter helps you personalize browsing: hide or soften words, media, and page sections, and optionally use on-device understanding for sensitive imagery. Data access is limited to that purpose.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Adaptive Content Filter’s use of information received through Chrome APIs and user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell user data. We do not use user data for unrelated advertising. We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

No sale or brokerage

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user content or browsing data to data brokers or advertising networks.

Account not required

You can use the extension without a ZAIXOS account. Sign-in on this website is for ZAIXOS family products and is separate from extension local settings.

What we do not collect by default

Your pages stay on your computer.

H

Browsing history

We do not maintain a browsing history log for our servers or for sale.

P

Page content

Page text and images are not uploaded for normal filtering on default profiles.

S

Screenshots

Screenshots are not saved beyond brief on-device processing when a feature needs them.

R

Your rules

Word lists, modes, and site preferences stay in local extension storage.

Data we handle

Stored locally, or only with your choice.

This matches how the product works in Chrome and what we declare for the Chrome Web Store.

L

Local settings

Modes, word lists, website rules, presentation choices, and preference timeline stay in Chrome local storage on your device.

A

On-device understanding

Sensitive image detection runs on your device. Images are not sent to a cloud vision service when Strict Local or Balanced profiles are active.

O

Optional analytics

Anonymous product analytics are off until you enable them in Preferences. They do not include browsing history, page content, personal rules, or personalizations.

Optional model contribution

Separately from analytics, you may opt in to anonymized correction signals that never include page content or URLs. Off by default.

Optional Describe / cloud help

If you use Describe your experience or choose a Cloud Assisted privacy profile, a minimized request may leave your device after clear consent. You can switch to Strict Local anytime. Cloud stops when you revoke consent.

Support you send us

Support notes and feedback you create stay on your device unless you choose to send them. Diagnostics attach only when you explicitly include them.

Chrome Web Store metrics

Google may provide us aggregate install and update counts for the listing. That is Google’s platform data, not a feed of your browsing.

Privacy profiles

Choose how strict you want to be.

S

Strict Local

No cloud inference. Core filtering works offline. Maximum privacy.

B

Balanced

Default. Local first. Cloud only with consent when you allow a fallback.

C

Cloud Assisted

Explicit opt-in for harder cases. You can see and revoke this choice.

E

Enterprise

Managed deployments may use an enterprise gateway and audit policy you can see.

Chrome permissions

Why the extension asks for access.

Permissions match the Chrome Web Store listing justifications.

storage

Save your rules, modes, and preferences on this device.

tabs

Apply personalization to the active tab and refresh after you approve changes.

contextMenus

Right-click to personalize selections, images, and website sections.

scripting and offscreen

Run page helpers and on-device processing needed for filtering and local understanding.

Optional host access

Site access (including optional all-sites access) lets personalization and image understanding work on pages you browse. Video site hosts may be requested for site-specific controls.

Optional analytics hosts

When you enable anonymous analytics, the extension may contact our analytics provider solely for that opt-in product telemetry.

Your controls

Change, export, or delete anytime.

P

Preferences

Turn analytics and model contribution on or off in the extension Preferences.

E

Export

Export your configuration before you clear data or move to another computer.

D

Delete

Clear all data in settings, or uninstall the extension. Chrome removes extension storage on uninstall.

PIN & Kids

Settings Lock stays on this device.

PIN storage

When you enable Settings Lock, the PIN is stored as a hash on this device, not as plain text and not on our servers.

Kids mode

Kids is a local keyword mode for safer browsing under a parent or guardian’s setup. It is not remote family-account parental control.

Adult image detection

Optional adult image safety runs on-device. Images are not uploaded to a cloud vision service for that feature.

More detail

Children, changes, and contact.

Children

The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Modes such as Kids are for safer browsing on a shared device under a parent or guardian’s setup.

If practices change

If data handling changes after install, we will disclose that in the product UI and update this policy. Optional features that send data remain opt-in and off by default unless you already chose them.

Third parties

We do not share page content with third parties for advertising. Optional analytics go only to our analytics provider when you enable them. Optional cloud help goes only to the service you consented to for that feature.

Store alignment

Limited Use

Data use limited to the disclosed personalization purpose.

Disclosed

Consent

Optional collection is off until you enable it in the product.

No sale

User data is not sold to third parties.

Browse with calm. Keep control.
